Birthday, the Third.

No.

No.... no. Nooooooo. NONONONONONONONO MY BABY IS NOT TURNING THREE TOMORROW NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Before I get to the birthday stuff. I apparently attempted to write a blog post a few months back and never finished. But what I did end up writing was worth a copy and paste:

"Mommy confession: I sometimes fantasize about having a nice, warm bonfire. Beer in hand. Maybe some marshmallows to roast... and as I gaze into the crackling fire in my mind's eye, I picture myself grabbing an Elmo and throwing his little wide-eyed face into the center of the inferno. And scene.

Elmo. Freaking Elmo. My life is consumed with Elmo. And his stupid red furry body. And his obnoxious voice. And his irritating and judgmental stare. I sometimes joke about doing a time study to see exactly how much of my life is devoted to frantically searching for the misplaced Elmo at nap/bed time."

Yea... full-on Elmo rant. That's how I roll these days.

Alright, birthday stuff.

So for the prior two birthdays, I did a little Emma Q&A but obviously she couldn't answer the questions herself. This year, I decided to ask her the questions and see what her responses would be, assuming we'd get two questions in and she'd decide she was done working for the day. I was actually quite shocked that she not only answered the questions (most of them, sometimes with some gentle coaxing and mild threats jkjkjk) but put some philosophical thought into the answers (or was she just distracted by bath crayons?) and most of her answers were pretty accurate. Oh and it's worth a mention that I videotaped it but because it was during bath time, that ish isn't going on the internet. Sorry. So anyways.... *cracks knuckles*

(here's a link to last year's post)

How old are you?
...so funny thing is, my answer last year was "this many *holds up two fingers*" and that is quite literally what she did this time. Hah!

Emma's answer: "get celegrations" which means have celebrations. But I could not understand her for the life of me. She repeated it about ten times before I figured out what she was saying.
Mommy's answer: If there are balloons and cupcakes then she will be happy.
